Schools overall organization, and fail to care about students

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Paul Mitchell the school of Milwaukee needs to be checked out by either corporate or by the state board committee. The lack of care for the students and unorganized administrators and Financial advisors.

The amount of checks not deposited, administrators having the student sign documents from weeks ago and lying about the dates, as well as not listening to student needs at the school. There has been weeks where there are no gloves, no paper towels, and no towels that we use for CLIENTS.

Not only that but there is constantly confusion with the teachers, which has left only one night school teacher for 30 students! This school is very unorganized and needs help from corporate or for the state board to reevaluate this school.

My daughter went to have low lights done in ash blond. She wanted 6 foils done it was subtle. The trainer did not over see the trainee. Daughter ended up with Carmel highlights.

My daughter shared a photo of what she wanted twice. The toner was not applied correctly and her low lights came out orange.

The foils bleed through in places. Not all the toner was washed out. She was quoted 40-50 but charged 60. I called to speak to someone and got the run around.

Was told that it was a school so you get what you get. I would never have my hair done there nor would I want my hair done by someone who trained there. Paul Mitchell in Overland Park is the worst. I had to take my daughter some where else to have all the issues fixed.

Mind you this is after she spent 4 1/2 hours in the chair. My daughter leaves for college 5 hours away and I was told she should have come back to try to fix it. The mess they created was so bad she refused to go back. I said I would pay for the product used but wanted a partial refund but was told no.

Im disgusted. Never again. Could not even get a call back after I left a message. I had to call a second time.

Just say train wreck because that was what it was. First photo was what she asked for and second photo was what she got.

Horrible Experience - the poor reviews are well deserved!!!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I went to get a haircut, lowlights, and highlights. Rylee told me her trainer/instructor (Char) had instructed her to do my highlights in a way that would make them bleed and not turn out right.

I should have gotten up and left then. My experience during this long process was horrible. While Rylee pulled my hair constantly during the foil process, I got to listen to the students whine and complain about their instructors. For instance, my impression of Char is that she must not be well liked because it was said that she is difficult and deducts points for no real reason, but students are still able to pass anyway.

Rhonda is 'kinda old,' instructors don't know what's best, that's why students have to go with their instincts. Sadly, Rylee is one of the students who believe she knows best. I'm 100% sure she didn't use the toner the instructor told her to use. Consequently, my highlights were nothing like the picture I showed her.

Also, Rylee doesn't have social skills. I found her to be downright rude. She didn't cut my hair right either. I should have known something was up when she didn't have any instructor look at my hair when she was done.

Instead, Rylee just took me to Char so I could pay. I didn't want to have my hair blow-dried so it wasn't until 40 minutes after I left that I saw how bad my highlights/lowlights were. I called the Paul Mitchell school to complain. Furthermore, I returned the next week to get a color correction.

During this visit, they put baking soda in my hair twice to try and get all that caramel brown toner out. Elise (student) told me, I would have to make another appointment to get my haircut done right and get the type of highlights I wanted. Which I did. At my next appointment I was told I would have to pay because Elise and her instructor said they 'offered to do more highlights' at my last appointment.

Poor Ka'Shayla (trainer) had to tell me this because Char and the front desk staff were hiding somewhere. Ultimately, I asked for a refund and refused any future services. If I'm going to pay $164, I'm getting my hair done by a professional. Really, by this time I didn't want to be there or deal with anyone there.

Good riddance! Lastly, there was an annoying Hispanic woman at the front desk who kept calling me 'girlie.' It took all my strength not to respond with 'whatever, b****.

I went to receive Highlights to the Las Vegas Paul Mitchell School on November 10, 2022. I felt comfortable going since an instructor would be overseeing the process.

I went in for the evening session appointments. The student did not rinse me even though the instructor, Tristan W., told her to rinse me every time she came around. Tristan was clearly negligent and because of that, I left bald spots and a thin hairline.

She looked at it in disbelief and all she could tell me was to give them a call tomorrow. I heard her say a few times, Theres the Paul Mitchell way, and then theres my way.

Hair demolition

I went to get a simple short hair trim yesterday at the Paul Mitchell School of Beauty in Hoover, Al yesterday and in just a few seconds had my life ruined. The girl scalped me and my consolation was a free haircut!

Thanks alot! I had to spend $130 on a wig, missed 2 shifts at work, and the pain and suffering so far is undescribable. Worst day of my life, most embarrassing experience ever and talk about walk of shame exiting the building with no hair and 50+ people staring at me in horror. Something needs to done so no one else needs to go through this!

So far the loss is beyond exponential. This is not right to offer nothing but an apology and a free life altering hair complete loss! So far I'm out about $400 counting the wig, lost wages and time spent trying to pick up the pieces. Currently trying to find a qualified wig cutter in an emergency situation last minute so I don't have to miss anymore work!

I WILL seek every option to get proper compensation for this undeserved customer service nightmare.

I feel completely dismissed and violated. *** Paul Mitchell!

I have a been attending the school for my touchups for over eight years, however, this last year has been horrendous at the front desk! I always make my appointment after my service at the school and yet they always screw it up by giving me someone else and not the person I requested who is also puzzled as to why Im not getting her. They need to pay more attention at the front desk!

Paul Mitchell Schools - You get what you pay for

There isnt enough support to watch over the students work. I went in to have my roots done and put in a few highlights to break up the color.

5 hrs later, the color was terrible and my hair is fried. They did refund my money and I got into a salon to improve the situation, but it will take months for my hair to grow out. I learned my lesson.

You get what you pay for. I attached the pic of my hair after my appt.

Teacher commented on my body

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I went to the Paul Mitchell school in Hendersonville Tennessee and I graduated from the aesthetics program in may 2020. All Im going to say is the teacher at that time commented on my body saying I needed to change my hips and the size of my upper body.

Basically telling me to get surgery.

I do not appreciate this and after many years later this comment has still stuck to me. Unprofessional environment and horrible to say that to a young woman paying to be in the program.

Poor service by staff

Paul Mitchell Schools - Poor service by staff
Updated by user Jan 05, 2024

If others license carrying hair stylist is unavailable we mite consider it due to convenience

Original review Jan 04, 2024
I initially wanted to set up appointment yet asked could it be booked fir that afternoon. I follow up with the opportunity presented by booking for the appointment for that afternoon.

Unaware of the service that bout to take place. Upon arrival the same clerk we had in the past booked n did our intake. We were told the hairstylist student is on break the appointment scheduled for 12:30 it's two minutes after. During the second passing on the arrival of the hairstylist we began addressing the style cost n process we were seeking during that asked could an African American do it they gave their protocol of allowing students to practice in every type of hair we stated we experienced this before results were very yet uncomfortable with the results yet allowed the hairstylist to complete the task it's 1pm now then it took embarrassing moments explaining this information must add .as the process continues shampooing deep conditioning products added for blow drying the stylish had a teacher step in red flag continue on with the style the same teacher who explained how it is nesscessary for students to practice in ever kind of hair.during this stage we are up rage inside thoo.

After being occurred of being hostile during the intake for asking for an African American to complete the hair do. It's gets better also during the intake we were told the other students were busy ( African American that is ) yet when the teacher step in we notice two students during each other's hair.

During the applying of the conditions part proceeded to braid the hair in sections as needed for this hair type maybe it just a preference we asked for the same thing git refused were called hostile fir even asking yet the students them selves did this. I want my money back yet they can keep it yet had they been honest in the approach in they gonna allow my child hair to risk being damaged cuz they felt they needed to allow us to suffer humiliation then that what happened upon making a reference to y child appearance thinking the child older then they appeared n gasp when told her age yet even more disrespectful

I hate this school

Paul Mitchell Nashville lies about students hours, kicks students out left and right without warning, there is never a teacher in the classrooms, we start everything at least an hour after its supposed to start, if teachers teach you ANYTHING it will be polar opposites and you will get yelled at if you do something in a way that another teacher taught you. We never even learned to tone hair in my class I mean with color theory its easy but I never toned ANYTHING until I did it on a real client.

The teachers will clock you out without having a reason and they wont tell you, so youre just stuck working without knowing you arent getting hours for it.

And they are so weird about makeup time, they only let 10 people make up 10 hours per week, but if you graduate later than your original grad date (which you will, unless you literally never get sick or have an emergency within your year at the school) you will have to pay extra. DO NOT GO TO PAUL MITCHELL PLEEEEEASE

I'm a student at the clear lake school

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

So my complaint is the way they teach is crap. So how am I supposed to pass many pedi when all we had to work on was one little finger and on top of that we didn't have any materials to use besides that finger.

We literally get a makeup bag but no lessons on makeup not once and I'm almost in creative then on top of all that we did facials and when we did facials we had nothing at all to use for our facials except Walmart products and even one of the new teachers was saying like this sad I'm sorry guys and my face I ended up getting a chemical burn on my face, My face was burning and burning red on top of that. The way we get our write-ups people are getting kicked out left and right because we didn't have enough time or because our teacher wasn't there for us to make up a test

So where is our money going and what is it going to. We don't get enough time at all on one thing I haven't been able to cut or die anyone's hair.

Just my doll so I'm not really learning at all we get one day of cutting it makes no sense. I think it's I don't know about Houston Paul Mitchell School but clear lake Paul Mitchell School for students sucks.

Pros:
  • Whoever in charge needs do there job
Cons:
  • No facial equipment
  • No manicure or pedicure equipment
  • Other paul mitchell schools have way more then us

Preferred solution: I would like the clear lake school to be investigated by who ever is in charge. And yes I want a apology for everything. And on top of all that I've noticed what we are paying for we literally don't get or have at the clear lake school.
